Step into the echo of Vietnam’s past and the marvels of its natural beauty on this immersive two-day private journey. Your adventure begins in the ancient imperial city of Hue, where you’re swept away through the war-scarred lands of Quang Tri Province. There, the haunting Vinh Moc Tunnels open a doorway into history—an underground network where families once lived, survived, and held on to hope during intense bombings. You’ll walk through time, guided by stories etched into the earth itself.

By nightfall, you’ll find rest in the quiet town of Dong Hoi, before setting out the next morning on a serene boat cruise along the Son River. The destination: Phong Nha Cave, an awe-inspiring cathedral of nature carved by water and time. As light dances off massive stalactites, you’ll wander deeper into the Tien Son and Bi Ky caves, where stone seems to breathe with ancient energy. On the return to Hue, stops at Hien Luong Bridge and Doc Mieu Fire Base offer a moving reflection on resilience, division, and healing. It’s a soulful escape—equal parts beauty, history, and inspiration.

Will I be able to access the internet in Hue?
Wifi is readily accessible in many parts of Vietnam, and Hue is no exception. Wifi is usually free, but when it is not there are internet cafes that can charge between 3000-8000 dong per hour. It is also easy and quite cheap to purchase a sim card that you will be able to use throughout Vietnam, even in many rural areas.
When is the best time of year to visit Hue?
There are two many seasons to visit Hue in, the wet and the dry season. There is a mountain range which keeps the moisture in during the rainy season, and makes it quite humid. These mountains also keep the heat in during the dry months, so generally it is quite warm in Hue. Most of the time it is good to keep a raincoat, as the weather is quite unpredictable.
Wet season: The wet season occurs from September to March. The weather will be a bit more humid but also a bit more cold. Expect there to be sun after a large amount of rainfall. Try to avoid the typhoon season which is from September to December as there is flash floods and a lot of rain. One positive of traveling during this time is that prices are a lot cheaper. I you do decide to travel during this time, try to bring a raincoat or small umbrella at all times as you never know when the rain will fall.
Dry season: Essentially the best time to visit Hue is from January through April. The rain is not as intense and the weather is quite nice, between 20-24 degrees celsius. There are also many festivals during this time such as the Lunar New Year (either in January or February), and Hue Festival in April. The actual dry season begins March through August. One negative aspect of traveling around this time is that the temperatures are very high and there are many more tourists. The prices also go up as this is considered high season, and you will definitely need to book in advance. But if you prefer nice weather then this is the time to visit. The temperature can range anywhere from 30-40 degrees at its maximum. Make sure to bring a big bottle of water everywhere you go to avoid hydration. Sunscreen is also very important, and still have a raincoat in case of sudden downpours.
